Give Up the Fluffy Towels and Get Real Results

Medical facials are facials that are done in a doctor’s office, in our case in a qualified dermatologist’s office. Sometimes certain facials are called medical because they are a little bit stronger than those carried out in a medical spa, a chemical peel for example.

Our medical facials have a doctor’s input inherent in their design, to get the facial that is best for you. They are created especially for people who have certain medical conditions, and they contain physician-strength ingredients for best results. We like to think they are not just a facial, but part of a total skin care plan put together by the esthetician and dermatologist, with the latter always on-site available for consultation.

For example, if we have a patient with rosacea, a chronic skin condition characterized by a reddening of the skin that is sometimes accompanied by pustules, we will alter the Facial with products that are specifically designed for sensitive skin, or which act as an anti-inflammatory.

When you are looking for a good facial, you never know what to expect. Sometimes deep cleanings go well, sometimes they don’t go well. It all depends on the esthetician, which is why it’s best to see one located within a doctor’s office. To some extent you know you are getting a good esthetician there, you know they are vetted at least to some extent and that the doctor’s reputation is on the line.

The other advantage of going to a doctor’s office is that they are able to use the stronger equipment. There are different microdermabrasion machines available, for example. Another benefit is that you can always get the doctor’s help.

Finally, if the esthetician knows a patient could benefit from a certain prescription but cannot write it, obviously the doctor can. So having a doctor on-site makes things a lot easier, as far as medicines, equipment, technique and safety are concerned. There are many advantages of having a real medical facial, set on the premises or setting of a dermatologist’s office.
